EFL Global Philippines partnered with Waves for Water to support a clean water initiative in Brgy. Cawag, Sitio Lower Matang-Eb, Zambales under the Global Goodness programme.
The community relies largely on nearby streams and natural springs, which can become contaminated during the rainy season. To improve access to safe drinking water, 44 MVP water filtration systems were distributed within the community, with each unit capable of supporting multiple households.
The filtration systems remove harmful bacteria and contaminants responsible for waterborne diseases and can operate for up to ten years with proper care. Community engagement sessions on water safety, sanitation, and hygiene were also conducted.
This initiative contributes to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation and forms part of EFL’s Global Goodness sustainability platform.
